For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to reach a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

COX2 converts arachidonate to prostaglandin H2 (PGH2), a key step in prostanoid synthesis including inflammatory prostaglandins.
This process involves two reactions:

1. Cyclooxygenase reaction converting arachidonate to prostaglandin G2 (PGG2).
2. Peroxidase reaction reducing PGG2 to PGH2.

COX2 is constitutively expressed in tissues such as endothelium, kidney, and brain, and is upregulated under pathological conditions including cancer and inflammation.
Up-regulation is associated with increased cell adhesion, phenotypic changes, apoptosis resistance, and tumor angiogenesis.
In cancer cells, COX2 facilitates prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) production, influencing cell motility, proliferation, and survival.
COX2 is naturally inhibited by calcitriol (active vitamin D) and transcriptionally repressed by glucocorticoids.
NSAIDs such as aspirin target COX2 to reduce inflammation-related pain and swelling.
