- 1 µg/mL of MA5-45574 was sufficient for detection of NALCN in 20 µg of rat brain lysate by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using Goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody.
- Detects approximately 200 kDa.
- This antibody was formerly sold as clone S187-7.
Target Information
Nalcn is a voltage-independent, cation-nonselective channel permeable to sodium, potassium, and calcium ions. It regulates the resting membrane potential and controls neuronal excitability. Neuropeptides such as neurotensin and substance P stimulate action potential firing by activating NALCN through a SRC family kinase-dependent pathway. Nalcn is involved in respiratory rhythm regulation, systemic osmoregulation, and neuronal excitability modulation. Diseases associated with NALCN include congenital contractures of the limbs and face, hypotonia, developmental delay, and infantile psychomotor retardation.
