Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. Purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
IFI16 (gamma-interferon-inducible protein 16) binds double-stranded DNA, preferentially to supercoiled and cruciform DNA structures. It participates in transcriptional regulation and acts as a transcriptional repressor. IFI16 may regulate hematopoietic differentiation and cellular proliferation by modulating p53/TP53 and retinoblastoma protein functions. It plays a key role in innate immune response by recognizing viral dsDNA and activating TMEM173/STING-mediated IFN-beta induction. IFI16 is essential for IFR3 signaling during HSV-1 infection and contributes to viral gene repression through heterochromatin assembly. It is also implicated in MTA1-mediated epigenetic regulation of ESR1 expression in breast cancer.
