Product Specific Information

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits are cloned and expressed in HEK293 cells. Clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Target Information

Ago proteins are broadly expressed in somatic cells and associate with miRNAs, playing key roles in RNA silencing pathways. Among them, Ago2 uniquely possesses endonucleolytic “Slicer” activity, enabling miRNA-directed cleavage of target mRNA when base-pairing is perfect.
In cases of partial complementarity, Ago2 represses translation rather than cleaving mRNA. It is essential in RNA interference, translation repression, and heterochromatin formation. As a core component of the RISC complex, AGO2 mediates mRNA degradation guided by siRNAs or miRNAs and also functions in Dicer-independent RNA slicing and miRNA maturation regulation.
Overexpression of Ago2 has been linked to cancer progression and patient survival, while gene disruption studies in mice demonstrate its essential role in embryonic, B-lymphoid, and erythroid development.
