Product Specific Information
The eBioDM244 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD244 (2B4, p38). CD244 is a 38 kDa surface protein expressed on NK cells, a subset of CD8+ T cells, γδ T cells, monocytes, basophils, and eosinophils. Binding of CD244 to its ligand CD48 results in NK cell activation.
This antibody is pre-titrated and validated for flow cytometric analysis. Recommended usage is 5 µL (0.125 µg) per 100 µL test volume. Cell number per test can range from 10⁵ to 10⁸.

Target Information
CD244 (2B4, SLAMF4) is a receptor expressed on NK cells and some T cells, mediating non-MHC restricted cytotoxicity. Interaction with SLAMF2 modulates NK-cell activity. Reduced SLAMF4 expression has been observed in systemic lupus erythematosus, suggesting a role in autoimmune pathology. CD244 dysfunction is associated with rheumatoid arthritis and lymphoproliferative syndrome. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
