The AFL4 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse VEGF receptor-3 (Flt-4), a 195 kDa endothelial-specific receptor tyrosine kinase.
During embryogenesis, VEGFR-3 is expressed on all endothelial cells, while in adult tissues it is restricted to lymphatic endothelium.
VEGFR-3 expression can be re-induced in tumors, suggesting its role in tumor angiogenesis.
VEGF-C and VEGF-D bind to and activate VEGFR-3. AFL4 acts as an antagonist monoclonal antibody.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometry, immunoprecipitation, Western blot, immunohistochemistry (frozen tissue), and ligand blocking assays.
For functional assays, use Functional Grade purified AFL4 (Product #16-5988-85).
Applications Tested: Tested by flow cytometric analysis using in vitro differentiated mouse endothelial cells.
Recommended to titrate for optimal assay performance.
