Product Specific Information

Description:
The MIH1 monoclonal antibody reacts with human B7-H1 (PD-L1), a member of the B7 family with a molecular weight of approximately 40 kDa. It is expressed on a majority of leukocytes and serves as a ligand for PD-1, mediating inhibition of T and B cell responses. MIH1 is reported to be a blocking antibody.

Applications Reported:

• Flow cytometric analysis
• Immunohistochemical staining of frozen tissue sections
• Blocking in functional assays (use Functional Grade purified MIH1, Product #16-5983-82)

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended ≤1 µg/test in 100 µL volume. Cell count may vary (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test). Antibody should be titrated for optimal performance.

Target Information

Programmed death receptor ligand 1 (PD-L1, B7-H1) is a B7 family member that binds PD-1, negatively regulating T-cell receptor signaling. PD-L1 decreases TCR-mediated proliferation and cytokine production. Its expression is abundant in many murine and human cancers and is upregulated by IFN-γ, suggesting a role in tumor immune evasion.
