The eBio12A8 antibody reacts with Ly-49A and Ly-49D.
Ly-49 family of NK-cell receptors are members of the C-type lectin superfamily, forming disulfide-linked type-II transmembrane homodimers with extracellular carbohydrate-recognition domains that bind to MHC class I alloantigens.
Ly-49D is expressed on subsets of NK cells in C57BL/6, C3H/He, and SJL mice, but not in DBA/2, AKR, CBA/J, or BALB/c strains. Ly-49D antigen is not detected on NK-1.1+ T cells.
Ly-49D acts as an activating receptor, while Ly-49A functions as an inhibitory receptor.
eBio12A8 does not react with BALB/c, DBA/2, AKR, or CBA/J Ly-49D.

• Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse spleen cells.
• Recommended usage: ≤0.125 µg per test (100 µL final volume).
• Cell number range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.
• Antibody should be titrated for optimal performance.

Target Information

Ly-49 family receptors are disulfide-linked type-II transmembrane homodimers with carbohydrate-recognition domains binding MHC class I alloantigens.
They are independently expressed on NK and T cells, allowing multiple Ly-49 receptor homodimers per cell.
Ly-49D is expressed on NK subsets in C57BL/6, C3H/He, and SJL mice, but absent in DBA/2, AKR, CBA/J, and BALB/c strains.
Ly-49D mediates NK cell cytolysis (activating receptor), while Ly-49A is inhibitory.
