Description:
The 21Mags8 antibody recognizes Eomesodermin (Eomes), also known as T-box brain 2 (TBR2). Eomes is a T-box transcription factor highly homologous to T-bet, essential during trophoblast development and gastrulation in most vertebrates. In the immune system, Eomes regulates differentiation of effector and memory CD8+ T cells and natural killer (NK) cells. Expression correlates with high CD122 (IL-2R/IL-15R β-chain) expression.

Note:
For detection of mouse Eomes, use clones 12-4875 or 51-4875.
For human Eomes detection, clone 51-4877 is recommended for brighter staining compared to 21Mags8.

Applications Tested:
Tested by western blot analysis of mouse splenocytes. Recommended starting concentration: 2 µg/mL.

Target Information

TBR2 (Eomes) is a member of the conserved T-box protein family sharing a common DNA-binding domain. T-box genes encode transcription factors that regulate developmental processes. In mice, disruption of a similar gene impairs trophoblast development and gastrulation. TBR2 plays a crucial role in brain development, particularly in the specification and proliferation of intermediate progenitor cells in the cerebral cortex.
