Product Specific Information
- In sandwich ELISAs, less than 1% cross-reactivity with recombinant canine IL-10 and recombinant porcine IL-10 is observed.
- Less than 0.4% cross-reactivity with recombinant human, mouse, rat, and feline IL-10 is observed.
- Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
- Endotoxin level: <0.15 EU per 1 µg of antibody (LAL method).
Target Information
IL-10 encodes a cytokine primarily produced by monocytes, with some production by lymphocytes. It regulates immune responses and inflammation by:
- Down-regulating Th1 cytokines, MHC class II antigens, and costimulatory molecules on macrophages
- Enhancing B cell survival, proliferation, and antibody production
- Blocking NF-kappa B activity and regulating the JAK-STAT signaling pathway
Knockout studies in mice indicate IL-10 as an essential immunoregulator in the intestinal tract. Mutations in this gene are linked to increased susceptibility to HIV-1 infection and rheumatoid arthritis.
Diseases associated with IL10 include Graft-Versus-Host Disease and Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1.
