SERPINA3는 Alpha 1-ACT를 암호화하며, 초기 급성기 반응 단백질이자 chymotrypsin, cathepsin G, chymase를 선택적으로 불활성화하는 serpin 계열 단백질입니다.
Alpha-1-ACT는 알츠하이머병(AD) 및 노화된 인간/원숭이 뇌의 아밀로이드 플라크와 밀접히 연관되어 있습니다.
Serine protease 및 그 억제제의 조절은 신경근 분화에 중요한 역할을 합니다. Prostate specific antigen (PSA)은 chymotrypsin 유사 serine protease로 Alpha-1-ACT와 주로 복합체를 형성합니다.
