Product Specific Information

The UC10-4B9 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD152 (CTLA-4), a protein structurally similar to CD28. CTLA-4 is expressed at low levels on activated T cells and binds CD80 (B7-1) and CD86 (B7-2) with higher affinity than CD28.
While CD28 provides costimulatory signals, CTLA-4 inhibits T cell activation by reducing IL-2 secretion and proliferation. Due to its intracellular localization, both surface and intracellular staining may be required for complete detection.

Applications Tested:
Tested for intracellular staining and flow cytometry using stimulated mouse splenocytes with the FoxP3/Transcription Factor Staining Buffer Set (Product #00-5523-00).
Recommended usage ≤ 0.25 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Cell number: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.
Optimize antibody concentration for best performance.

Target Information

CTLA4 (Cytotoxic T-Lymphocyte Antigen 4)
A CD28-family receptor mainly expressed on CD4⁺ T cells. It binds CD80 and CD86 with higher affinity than CD28, delivering inhibitory signals that suppress T cell activation. Intracellular CTLA4 is also found in regulatory T cells and contributes to their function.
