The eBio20A monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD152, also known as cytotoxic T lymphocyte antigen-4 (CTLA-4).
CTLA-4 is expressed on activated T cells (and sometimes B cells) and binds CD80 (B7-1) and CD86 (B7-2) with higher affinity than CD28.
CTLA-4 and CD28 deliver opposing signals to T cells: CD28 acts as a costimulator, while CTLA-4 inhibits IL-2 secretion and cellular proliferation.
Intracellular localization of CTLA-4 occurs due to ER retention motifs, leading to accumulation after TCR signaling.

Applications Reported: Suitable for flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and validated for intracellular staining and flow cytometric analysis of PHA-stimulated normal human peripheral blood cells.
Use at 5 µL (0.125 µg) per test (final volume 100 µL). Cell number may range from 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.

CTLA4 (Cytotoxic T-Lymphocyte Antigen 4) is a CD28-family receptor expressed mainly on CD4+ T cells.
It binds CD80 and CD86 on B cells and dendritic cells with higher affinity than CD28.
Unlike CD28, which enhances T cell activation, CTLA4 inhibits T cell function.
Intracellular CTLA4 is also found in regulatory T cells and may play a role in their function.
