Target Information
The hnRNPs are RNA-binding proteins that complex with heterogeneous nuclear RNA (hnRNA). These proteins associate with pre-mRNAs in the nucleus and influence pre-mRNA processing, mRNA metabolism, and transport. While all hnRNPs are present in the nucleus, some shuttle between the nucleus and cytoplasm. hnRNP C1 and C2 are encoded by a single gene with two alternatively spliced transcript variants.
