Target Information
CAMKK1 (CaMKK alpha) is a member of the serine/threonine protein kinase family and part of the Ca²⁺/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase subfamily.
CaMKK alpha is a component of the nuclear factor of activated T cells (NFAT) DNA-binding transcription complex, which regulates inducible gene transcription during immune responses.
CAMKK1 functions as a molecular target for immunosuppressive drugs such as cyclosporin A.
Five transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified, potentially regulating different cytokine gene expressions.
