Target Information

CAMKK1 (CaMKK alpha) is a member of the serine/threonine protein kinase family and belongs to the Ca²⁺/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase subfamily.
It is a component of the nuclear factor of activated T cells (NFAT) DNA-binding transcription complex, which plays a central role in inducible gene transcription during immune response.
CAMKK1 functions as a major molecular target for immunosuppressive drugs such as cyclosporin A.
Five transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified, potentially regulating inducible expression of different cytokine genes.
