Target Information

STING is a 379-amino-acid signaling protein involved in innate immune signaling. It activates NF-κB and IRF3 transcription pathways to induce type I interferons (IFN-α and IFN-β), mediating antiviral responses.
STING may function as a translocon and is implicated in apoptotic signaling via association with MHC-II. It facilitates detection of intracellular viral RNA and B-form DNA and mediates death signaling through ERK pathway activation.
It is generally localized to the endoplasmic reticulum membrane, cell membrane, and mitochondrial outer membrane, and is ubiquitously expressed across tissues.
