Product Specific Information
This antibody reacts with mouse SLP65 / BLNK, a cytosolic adaptor protein identified as two phosphoproteins migrating at 68 and 70 kDa in SDS/PAGE (alternatively spliced forms of human SLP65).
Western blot is recommended under reducing conditions.
Target Information
B cell linker protein (BLNK) is encoded by the Blnk gene located on chromosome 10 in humans. Also known as SLP65 (Src homology 2 domain-containing leukocyte protein of 65 kDa), BLNK functions as an adaptor protein in the B cell receptor signaling cascade.
Studies have shown that absence of BLNK leads to improper B cell development. BLNK undergoes tyrosine phosphorylation by Syk, a B cell receptor–activated kinase, providing a platform for interaction with signaling intermediates such as Vav GEF and Grb2.
