Product Specific Information

This antibody reacts to Histone H3 monomethylated at Lysine 18 (K18me1).
No cross-reactivity with dimethylated Lysine 18 (K18me2), trimethylated Lysine 18 (K18me3), or other methylations in histone H3.

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems.
The antibody DNA sequences are cloned from immunoreactive rabbits, and individual clones are screened to select optimal candidates.

Histone H3 is one of the DNA-binding proteins found in the chromatin of all eukaryotic cells.
Together with four core histone proteins, it binds to DNA forming the nucleosome structure.
Histones play a central role in transcription regulation, DNA repair, replication, and chromosomal stability.
Post-translational modifications of histones can alter chromatin structure or facilitate transcription factor binding.
The N-terminal tail of histone H3 undergoes methylation, acetylation, and phosphorylation, influencing diverse cellular processes.
