This antibody reacts to Histone H3 acetylated at Lysine 4 (K4ac) and shows no cross-reactivity with other acetylated lysines in histone H3.

Target Information
Histone H3 is a DNA-binding protein found in the chromatin of all eukaryotic cells. Along with other core histones, it forms the nucleosome structure that packages DNA. Histones play a central role in transcription regulation, DNA repair, replication, and chromosomal stability.
The N-terminal tail of histone H3 can undergo multiple post-translational modifications, such as methylation or acetylation of lysine and arginine residues, and phosphorylation of serine or threonine. These modifications influence chromatin structure and gene expression.
