Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

Vimentin is a developmentally regulated intermediate filament protein found in mesenchymal cells. It plays a role in intracellular protein transport between the nucleus and plasma membrane.
During early cellular development, vimentin is co-expressed with desmin and later replaced by tissue-specific intermediate filament proteins.
Vimentin is implicated in steroid synthesis regulation through its function as a storage network for cholesterol-containing lipid droplets. Phosphorylation of vimentin by protein kinase triggers intermediate filament breakdown, facilitating lipid droplet–mitochondria interaction and enhancing steroidogenesis.
