Target Information
HIF-2 alpha (Epas1) is a transcription factor involved in the induction of oxygen-regulated genes. It contains a basic-helix-loop-helix domain and dimerization domain, participating in oxygen-sensing signal transduction pathways. HIF-2 alpha regulates VEGF expression and is implicated in angiogenesis and lung tubular system development. Mutations in this gene are associated with familial erythrocytosis type 4.
