Target Information
ZFPM1 is a transcription regulator involved in erythroid and megakaryocytic cell differentiation. It functions as a cofactor forming heterodimers with GATA family transcription factors (GATA1, GATA2, GATA3), modulating transcriptional activity depending on cell and promoter context. The heterodimer activates genes such as NFE2, ITGA2B, and globin genes, while repressing KLF1. ZFPM1 may also play roles in gonadal gene regulation and cardiac development, in coordination with ZFPM2/FOG2.
