Product Specific Information
Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
A BLAST analysis suggests cross-reactivity with rat, human, bovine, and mouse based on 100% sequence homology. Cross-reactivity with Stim1 from other sources has not been determined.
Target Information
STIM1 (Stromal Interacting Molecule 1) acts as a calcium sensor within the endoplasmic reticulum and transduces calcium depletion signals to Orai1, the CRAC channel at the plasma membrane. Upon calcium depletion, STIM1 oligomerizes and activates Orai1, allowing extracellular calcium entry into the cytoplasm. STIM1 also associates with growing ends of microtubules and contributes to endoplasmic reticulum tubule extension.
