Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

Anti-BLM pS527 is directed against the phosphorylated form of human S527 residue. A BLAST analysis was used to suggest cross-reactivity with human based on 100% sequence homology. Cross-reactivity with BLM pS527 from other species has not been determined.

Target Information

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the annexin family of calcium-dependent phospholipid binding proteins, some of which are involved in membrane-related events along exocytotic and endocytotic pathways. Annexin 5 functions as a phospholipase A2 and protein kinase C inhibitory protein with calcium channel activity and a potential role in cellular signal transduction, inflammation, growth, and differentiation. It has also been described as placental anticoagulant protein I, vascular anticoagulant-alpha, endonexin II, lipocortin V, placental protein 4, and anchorin CII. The gene spans 29 kb containing 13 exons, encoding a single transcript (~1.6 kb) and a protein product of approximately 35 kDa.
