Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of PDGF Receptor beta only when phosphorylated at Tyr857.
Target Information
PDGFRB (platelet-derived growth factor receptor beta) is a receptor tyrosine kinase implicated in atherogenesis and cell transformation by the SIS oncogene. These growth factors act as mitogens for mesenchymal-origin cells. The specific ligand bound determines whether the receptor forms a homodimer or a heterodimer with PDGF receptor alpha. The PDGFRB gene, located on chromosome 5, is adjacent to the genes for granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor and macrophage-colony stimulating factor receptor, all of which may be involved in 5-q syndrome. A translocation between chromosomes 5 and 12 that fuses PDGFRB (CD140b) with the ETV6 leukemia gene results in chronic myeloproliferative disorder with eosinophilia.
