Target Information
NODAL is a key member of the TGF-beta family involved in cellular differentiation. It is constitutively expressed in many developing tissues but is also associated with cancer progression and metastasis.
NODAL expression is regulated by the Notch signaling pathway, and its disruption contributes to aggressive tumor behavior, particularly in melanoma. The abundance of NODAL expression can help determine cancer stage and metastatic progression in IHC studies.
NODAL interactions with Cripto promote tumor progression, and overexpression is also linked to preeclamptic placenta.
