Recombinant rabbit Superclonal™ antibodies are unique offerings from Thermo Fisher Scientific. They consist of multiple recombinant monoclonal antibodies, combining the sensitivity of polyclonal antibodies with the specificity and consistency of monoclonal antibodies.
These antibodies recognize multiple epitope sites, providing higher detection sensitivity for low-abundance targets, while maintaining reproducibility across lots.
Formerly called “Recombinant polyclonal antibody”, this product is now rebranded as “Recombinant Superclonal™ antibody” with unchanged performance.
Target Information
DISC1 (Disrupted in Schizophrenia 1) is a multifunctional protein interacting with various centrosome and cytoskeletal proteins. It plays a role in neuronal migration, neurite architecture, and intracellular transport.
DISC1 is expressed in the hippocampus, lateral septum, amygdala, cerebral cortex, cerebellum, and paraventricular hypothalamus.
Loss of DISC1 function is associated with schizophrenia due to chromosomal translocations.
DISC1 interacts with proteins such as MIPT3, MAP1A, NUDEL, alpha-actinin 2, beta 4-spectrin, ATF-4, and ATF-5, implicating it in intracellular transport and neuronal development.
