Product Specific Information

  • Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
  • Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 min.

Target Information

Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a common lethal genetic disease caused by mutations of the gene coding for the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance factor (CFTR), a cAMP-regulated chloride channel. Approximately 70% of CF cases involve deletion of phenylalanine at position 508 (ΔF508), leading to abnormal chloride transport. This mutation often results in lung and liver disease. Interestingly, Salmonella typhi uses CFTR to enter intestinal epithelial cells; ΔF508 heterozygote and homozygote mice showed 86% and 100% reductions in S. typhi intestinal submucosal uptake.
