Product Specific Information

  • IHC (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
  • Formalin-fixed tissues: Heat tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C, then cool at room temperature for 20 minutes.

Target Information

Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a common lethal genetic disease caused by mutations in the CFTR gene, which encodes a cAMP-regulated chloride channel. Approximately 70% of CF cases involve deletion of phenylalanine at position 508 (ΔF508), resulting in abnormal chloride transport. This mutation leads to severe lung and liver disease. Interestingly, CFTR also serves as an entry point for Salmonella typhi into intestinal epithelial cells, and ΔF508 heterozygous and homozygous mice show significantly reduced bacterial uptake.
