PLAC1 (Placenta-specific 1)은 원래 태반 및 배아 발생 중 영양막 계통 유래 세포에서 특이적으로 발현되는 단백질로 확인되었으며, 다양한 인간 악성종양(특히 유방암)에서도 이소성으로 발현되는 것으로 보고되었습니다.
PLAC1은 막 연관 단백질로서, 모체-태반 접면에서 세포 간 또는 리간드-수용체 상호작용을 조절하는 수용체 유사 기능을 수행하는 것으로 여겨집니다.
