Product Specific Information
This antibody reacts with the C-terminal part of Daxx, a 110 kDa intracellular protein.
Target Information
The DAXX gene encodes a multifunctional protein that resides in both the nucleus and cytoplasm. It interacts with various proteins, including apoptosis antigen Fas, centromere protein C, and transcription factor E26 oncogene homolog 1. In the nucleus, DAXX acts as a transcriptional repressor of sumoylated transcription factors, with activity modulated by sequestration into promyelocytic leukemia nuclear bodies or nucleoli. It also associates with centromeres during G2 phase and may regulate apoptosis in the cytoplasm. Post-translational modifications such as sumoylation, phosphorylation, and polyubiquitination influence its localization and function. Multiple transcript variants are produced by alternative splicing.
