Mouse anti-human CD121a, clone 35730, recognizes interleukin-1 receptor type 1 (IL1R1).
IL1RA/CD121a is widely expressed in various cell types including T cells and fibroblasts (Sims et al.) and is involved in the activation of NF-kappa-B (Slack et al.).
Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is a cytokine receptor belonging to the interleukin 1 receptor family.
It acts as a receptor for interleukin alpha (IL1A), interleukin beta (IL1B), and interleukin 1 receptor type I (IL1R1/IL1RA).
This receptor mediates cytokine-induced immune and inflammatory responses.
The gene forms part of a cytokine receptor cluster along with IL1R2, IL1RL2, and IL1RL1, mapped to chromosome 2q12.
