Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
Steroidogenic factor-1 (SF-1) is an orphan nuclear receptor involved in organ development and differentiation of the endocrine system. It is essential for fetal development of the hypothalamus, pituitary gland, gonads, and adrenal gland. SF-1 promotes transcriptional activity of many steroidogenic enzymes from the cytochrome P450 family.
SF-1 contains two activation function domains (AF1 and AF2), common to nuclear steroid receptors, necessary for interaction with other nuclear receptors, coactivators, and corepressors such as SRC-1, GRIP1, CREB binding protein (CBP), and SMRT.
