The monoclonal antibody 34.2 recognizes human lysosome-associated membrane protein 5 (LAMP5), also known as brain and dendritic cell-associated LAMP-like molecule (BAD-LAMP).
LAMP5 is expressed in post-natal neurons and non-activated plasmacytoid dendritic cells. In neurons, expression is localized to intracellular vesicles distributed in specific microdomains along neurites and may play a role in endocytosis. In plasmacytoid dendritic cells, BAD-LAMP is localized to the endoplasmic reticulum-Golgi intermediate compartment (ERGIC) and is lost upon TLR activation.
- Tested by IHC of formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue using high or low pH antigen retrieval (≤1 µg/mL)
- Tested by Western blot analysis of reduced SK-N-SH cell lysates (≤5 µg/mL)
- Recommended to titrate for optimal performance

Target Information
Lysosome-associated membrane protein 5 (LAMP5) belongs to the LAMP family but exhibits restricted expression compared to other members. It is expressed in post-natal neurons and non-activated plasmacytoid dendritic cells, localized to intracellular vesicles and the ER-Golgi intermediate compartment (ERGIC). Expression is lost upon TLR activation, suggesting a role in endocytosis and immune regulation.
