Target Information
SOD1 (Superoxide Dismutase 1)은 구리 및 아연 이온을 결합하며, 체내 활성산소 제거에 관여하는 두 가지 이소효소 중 하나입니다.
이 단백질은 세포질 내 용해성 호모다이머 형태로 존재하며, 초과산화 라디칼을 산소와 과산화수소로 전환합니다.
다른 이소효소는 미토콘드리아 단백질로 존재합니다.
이 유전자의 돌연변이는 가족성 근위축성 측삭경화증(ALS)의 원인으로 보고된 바 있으며, 일부 희귀 전사 변이도 보고되었습니다.
