Target Information

YAP (Yes-Associated Protein) is a transcriptional co-activator and oncogene, belonging to the WW domain family.
It is transcriptionally activated in squamous cell carcinoma cells and functions as both a coactivator and corepressor.
YAP is a critical downstream target in the Hippo signaling pathway, which regulates organ size and tumor suppression by controlling proliferation and apoptosis.
It also plays roles in tissue tension, 3D tissue shape, cell proliferation, cell death, and migration.
Mutations in the IRF5 gene result in coloboma.
