Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
Mutations in the Schizosaccharomyces pombe Rae1 and Saccharomyces cerevisiae Gle2 genes result in accumulation of poly(A)-containing mRNA in the nucleus, suggesting involvement in RNA export. The human RAE1 protein is a homolog containing four WD40 motifs and localizes to the nucleoplasm, nuclear rim, and cytoplasmic meshwork structures. It is involved in nucleocytoplasmic transport and may attach cytoplasmic mRNPs to the cytoskeleton. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified.
