Heat-mediated antigen retrieval is recommended prior to staining, using a 10 mM citrate buffer (pH 6.0) for 10–20 minutes followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes. After antigen retrieval, incubate samples with primary antibody for 10 minutes at room temperature. A suggested positive control is tonsil tissue.

Target Information

CD79a is a disulfide-linked heterodimer that includes the B29 (CD79b) polypeptide. It serves as part of the B lymphocyte antigen receptor complex, associating with Ig-alpha and Ig-beta—essential components for B-cell receptor expression and function. CD79a expression begins at the pre-B cell stage and continues to the plasma cell stage, where it is found intracellularly. It is present in most acute leukemias of precursor B-cell type, B-cell lines, B-cell lymphomas, and some myelomas, but absent in myeloid or T-cell lines. Diseases associated with CD79a include Agammaglobulinemia 3 and Agammaglobulinemia, Non-Bruton type.
