Product Specific Information
The eBioCB‑CALLA monoclonal antibody recognizes human CD10 (CALLA, NEP, enkephalinase, Neprilysin), a 100 kDa type II cell surface glycoprotein originally identified on acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) cells. CD10 is identical to neutral endopeptidase (NEP) and functions as a Zn²⁺‑dependent metallopeptidase that regulates peptide hormones such as endothelin, glucagon, gastrin, neurotensin, and bradykinin. It modulates chemotactic and inflammatory processes involving neutrophils and plays a role in stromal cell‑dependent B lymphopoiesis.
Expression of CD10 is also found in the brush border of enterocytes, renal tubules, and glomeruli. Partial blocking between eBioCB‑CALLA and MEM‑78 antibodies indicates recognition of similar epitopes.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Validated in flow cytometry using normal human peripheral blood cells (≤ 0.5 µg/test). A test is defined as the antibody amount required to stain a sample in a final 100 µL volume. Optimal titration is recommended.

Target Information
CD10 (Common Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia Antigen, CALLA) is a cell surface enzyme with neutral metalloendopeptidase activity that inactivates various biologically active peptides. It is expressed on lymphoblastic, Burkitt’s, and follicular germinal center lymphoma cells, immature B cells in adult bone marrow, and cells from chronic myelocytic leukemia (CML) patients. CD10 is also found on breast myoepithelial cells, bile canaliculi, fibroblasts, and highly expressed in kidney and gut epithelial brush borders.
CD10 cleaves peptides at the amino side of hydrophobic residues, inactivating peptide hormones such as glucagon, enkephalins, substance P, neurotensin, oxytocin, and bradykinin. It is a 100 kDa type II transmembrane glycoprotein encoded by a > 45 kb gene with alternatively spliced 5′ UTRs producing four mRNA transcripts.
Diseases associated with CD10 dysfunction include spinocerebellar ataxia 43 and Charcot‑Marie‑Tooth disease.
