Product Specific Information

This antibody detects endogenous levels of NFκB p105/p50 only when phosphorylated at Serine 907.

Target Information

NF-κB is a nuclear transcription factor activated by various extracellular and intracellular stimuli such as cytokines, UV radiation, stress, injury, and microbial products. It regulates diverse cellular processes including cell growth, differentiation, proliferation, apoptosis, and inflammation.
NFKB1 (p50), a 50 kDa subunit of NF-κB, belongs to the Rel protein family. It is synthesized as a p105 precursor containing an N-terminal RHD region with nuclear localization, DNA-binding, and dimerization domains. NFKB1 (p50) forms homodimers or heterodimers with p65 to create functional NF-κB. It is essential for nuclear translocation and DNA binding of NF-κB.
Aberrant NF-κB activity has been implicated in AIDS, hematogenic cancer metastasis, and rheumatoid arthritis.
