Product Specific Information
Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
Reacts specifically with human MEK1. Anti-MEK1 is purified from tissue culture supernatant by protein A purification. Cross-reactivity is expected with human, mouse, and rat based on sequence identity of the peptide immunogen. This antibody does not react with the MEK2 isoform.
Target Information
MAP2K1 (MEK1) kinase is a dual-specificity protein kinase functioning in mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) cascades, controlling cell growth and differentiation. It is activated by growth factors, cytokines, membrane depolarization, and calcium influx. MEK1 activation occurs via phosphorylation at serine 218 and 222 by Raf1.
Involved in stress response, apoptosis, and proliferation signaling. Mutations in MAP2K1 can lead to cardiofaciocutaneous syndrome.
