Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of PDGF Receptor alpha only when phosphorylated at Tyr720.
Target Information
PDGFRA is a cell surface receptor tyrosine kinase that binds members of the platelet-derived growth factor family, which act as mitogens for mesenchymal cells. The specific growth factor bound determines whether the receptor forms a homodimer or heterodimer with PDGF receptor beta. Knockout mouse studies show that PDGFRA is essential for kidney development, as heterozygous mice exhibit kidney defects.
