This affinity-purified antibody is directed against human MCM2 protein. It shows equivalent reactivity against both unphosphorylated and phosphorylated forms (phosphorylated at residues pS26 and pS27).
BLAST analysis suggests cross-reactivity with MCM2 proteins from human, mouse, rat, and S. cerevisiae based on 100% homology with the immunizing sequence.
Reactivity against homologues from other sources is not known.

Target Information

MCM2 (Mini chromosome maintenance protein 2) regulates DNA replication and is crucial for the cell cycle, particularly in the onset of DNA replication and cell division.
Also known as CDCL1, mitotin, and BM28, MCM2 is a nuclear protein mapped to chromosome 3q21.
CDCL1 is considered a candidate oncogene associated with chromosomal breaks in acute myeloid leukemia (AML).
