Product Specific Information

Description:
The monoclonal antibody IgE21 recognizes the immunoglobulin E (IgE) class of antibodies. IgE levels in serum are low but play a key role in allergic responses by binding to mast cells and basophils through Fc epsilon receptor I, leading to histamine release. IgE is produced by plasma B cells and basophils and exists in both soluble and membrane-bound forms. IgE21 recognizes both forms.

Each product contains:

• 1 vial of NovaFluor conjugate
• 1 vial of CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer

Applications Reported:
Suitable for flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometry using normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended use: 5 µL (0.2 µg) per test in 100 µL final volume. Cell number range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.

Important Notes:

• NovaFluor dyes are incompatible with DNA intercalating viability dyes (e.g., propidium iodide, 7-AAD, DAPI).
• Use Invitrogen LIVE/DEAD Fixable Dead Cell stains for viability assays.
• CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer (Cat. No. C001T06F01) is required for optimal staining. Add 5 µL per sample before combining with cells.

Target Information

IgE is one of five mammalian immunoglobulin classes. It consists of two epsilon heavy chains and two light chains. IgE is central in type I hypersensitivity reactions (e.g., hay fever, asthma, hives, anaphylaxis) by binding to Fc receptors on basophils and mast cells, inducing degranulation and allergic responses. It also plays a role in immunity against parasites.
