Preparation:
Produced from sera of goats immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human BAFF. Anti-Human BAFF-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing an immobilized Human BAFF matrix.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Human BAFF by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.5–2.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Human BAFF (500-P163GBt) as a detection antibody, allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human BAFF.

Western Blot:
To detect Human BAFF by Western Blot analysis, this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. Used with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Human BAFF is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

BAFF is a membrane-bound cytokine expressed by B cell lineage cells. The soluble form binds to receptors TNFRSF13B/TACI, TNFRSF17/BCMA, and TNFRSF13C/BAFFR. BAFF acts as a potent B cell activator, important for proliferation and differentiation of B cells. It is also expressed by T lymphocytes and promotes T cell activation and survival. Isoforms representing alternatively spliced and glycosylated variants have been identified.
