Product Specific Information

• Predicted to react with monkey, equine, bovine, porcine, rabbit, guinea pig, and chicken based on sequence homology.
• Heat-mediated antigen retrieval is recommended prior to staining using 10 mM citrate buffer (pH 6.0) for 10 minutes, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
• After antigen retrieval, incubate samples with primary antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
• Suggested positive control: tonsil or B cell lymphoma.

Target Information

CD79a is a disulphide-linked heterodimer that includes the B29 (CD79b) polypeptide. It functions as part of the B lymphocyte antigen receptor complex, associating with Ig-alpha and Ig-beta, which are essential for B-cell antigen receptor expression and function.
CD79a expression begins at the pre-B cell stage and persists until the plasma cell stage, where it is found intracellularly.
It is expressed in most acute leukemias of precursor B cell type, B cell lines, B cell lymphomas, and some myelomas, but not in myeloid or T cell lines.
Diseases associated with CD79a include Agammaglobulinemia 3 and Agammaglobulinemia, Non-Bruton type.
