Product Specific Information
The 5D10 monoclonal antibody reacts with murine MULT-1 (Murine ULBP-Like Transcript 1), a type I transmembrane protein with two Ig-like domains. MULT-1 is a high-affinity ligand for NKG2D, one of several murine NKG2D ligands including RAE1 molecules and H60.
Expression of NKG2D ligands is typically low or absent in normal adult tissues but upregulated in stressed or transformed cells, enabling activation of NK cell tumoricidal activity.
Applications Reported: Suitable for flow cytometric analysis and immunohistochemical staining of frozen tissue sections.
Applications Tested: Tested on A20 cell line for flow cytometry. Recommended ≤1 µg per test (100 µL final volume). Optimal antibody titration advised for best performance.
Purity: >90% (SDS-PAGE)
Aggregation: <10% (HPLC)
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered
Target Information
ULBP1 is a ligand for the NKG2D receptor, along with ULBP2 and ULBP3. These ligands activate multiple signaling pathways in NK cells, leading to cytokine and chemokine production.
Binding of ULBP ligands to NKG2D triggers calcium mobilization and activation of JAK2, STAT5, ERK, and PI3K/Akt pathways.
In CMV-infected cells, ULBP1 interacts with soluble CMV glycoprotein UL16, which blocks NKG2D binding and retains ULBP1 in the ER and cis-Golgi, aiding viral immune evasion.
