Description:
The 33D1 monoclonal antibody reacts with a mouse dendritic cell (DC)-specific surface marker, DCIR2. The biological activity of DCIR2 is not fully understood. It is expressed on dendritic cell subpopulations from mouse thymus, spleen, lymph node, and Peyer’s patch. Expression in bone marrow dendritic cells requires GM-CSF and is downregulated by IL-4. DCIR2 has been detected in vivo in brain dendritic cells following infection with Toxoplasma gondii.

Applications Reported:
This antibody is reported for use in flow cytometry, immunohistology of frozen tissue sections, immunohistochemistry, and complement-mediated cytotoxicity assays.

Applications Tested:
The antibody has been tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes. Recommended usage is ≤1 µg per test (100 µL final volume). Cell number should be optimized (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test). Titration is recommended for best performance.
For detection of purified 33D1, avoid goat anti-rat secondary antibodies due to low affinity. Use biotin mouse anti-rat (Product #13-4813-85) instead.

Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered

Target Information

DCIR2’s biological role remains unclear. It is expressed on dendritic cell subsets from mouse thymus, spleen, lymph node, and Peyer’s patch. Expression depends on GM-CSF and is suppressed by IL-4. It has also been observed in brain dendritic cells following Toxoplasma gondii infection.
