Target Information

TFIID is a general transcription factor initiating preinitiation complex assembly through interaction with the TATA promoter element. It is a multisubunit complex composed of TATA-binding protein (TBP) and TBP-associated factors (TAFs).
TAF II p100 (TAF5 or TAFII100) is the third largest subunit of human TFIID, containing six WD40 repeats at the C-terminus and an N-terminus capable of forming a flexible dimer.
TAF II p100 plays a key role in forming the scaffold essential for TFIID complex assembly and may aid in stabilizing TAF interactions.
